Wagashi: Season by Season by Kimiko Gunji

This book features stunning full color images and nearly 50 recipes within 256 pages.

The creation of this second book, Wagashi: Season by Season, has been in development for the past three years following the publication of Professor Gunji's first book, The Art of Wagashi, in 2019. We are happy to share that The Art of Wagashi has been very popular since its initial release — selling over 1000 copies, with all proceeds supporting Japan House programming. This new book, Wagashi: Season by Season, reflects Japanese seasonal changes with keen sensitivity to each season. Professor Gunji's sincerely hopes the readers of these booklets will not only enjoy making seasonal wagashi, but are also able to experience the Japanese way of the four seasons through creation of these wagashi.

The five booklets are organized by Intro, Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer within the box enclosure.

This book features stunning full color images and nearly 50 recipes within 256 pages. The new wagashi recipes in this book emphasize seasonality and contain explanations based on Japanese customs and occasions in which they are prepared. This book uniquely contains 5 booklets within a decorative box enclosure to make for easy access to recipes depending on the season.
